On The Road in Ohio

The last of February Linda and I went north to Ohio for two meetings in four days. God was so good to keep us safe on the highway as we traveled 600 miles round trip to places we had never been.

First we went to First Baptist Church of Milford where Dr. Bill Duttry is the pastor. There we met with Dr. & Mrs. Keen who are gracious hosts. Linda especially enjoyed being with Mrs. Keen while I was with Dr. Keen, Pastor Duttry and the Bearing Precious Seed Staff. During this meeting on Thursday, Dr. Keen explained about the move of FirstBible International to Milford and underneath the BPS umbrella of ministry as an extension. I believe this to be a good fit and directed by the Lord. It was a privilege to meet the men of BPS and look forward to working along with them for the furtherance of the word of God.

On Thursday afternoon we drove to Portsmouth, Ohio for a Christian Home Crusade. In this meeting we were given the opportunity to tell about the ministry of FirstBible on Friday morning to a group of area pastors. What a joy to fellowship with Pastor Ryan Brown and the folks from Calvary Baptist Church.

Friday afternoon the meeting was moved from the church to Shawnee State University for a large crusade with sessions for the children, teens, and adults. The closing service was combined in the auditorium where a large crowd attended to hear Dr. Clarence Sexton preach on the home.

The most troubling thing for this Georgian was that it began to sleet and snow and I had to drive home the next day to be in Atlanta for Sunday. God took care of all my fears. It was a joy to be used of the Lord.

Great Conference in Columbus

What a joy and privilege to share the burden and ministry of FirstBible International with a group of people who are sincere in their desire to see the world reached with the gospel of Christ.

Linda and I both had that opportunity this past weekend in Columbus, Georgia at Lighthouse Baptist Church.  Even after the services the folks stayed and asked more questions about the ministry.  Many wanted to know how they could adopt a people group for their church.

There was one lady who was so touched by the example of a Wordless Bible for the Thadou Kuki people of India.  She said she felt ashamed to have so many Bibles in her home while others didn’t even have a verse of scripture in their mother tongue.

I am so thankful for Linda who takes every opportunity to share the ministry with ladies and children.  She is by far my greatest asset to this great work.

It was also a joy to share the meeting with my good friend, Bro. Tom McGuirt, who represents the International Board of Jewish Missions.  Bro. McGuirt did a wonderful job showing us why we should reach the Jewish people for the Lord.

Thanks again to the wonderful people who treated us with greatly for the glory of God.  Pastor Wynn has done an excellent job of leading them to not only love world evangelism enough to give but also to be willing to go as well.
