Linda and I were privileged to be part of the “Living By Faith” Missions Conference last week at Harvest Baptist Church in Acworth, GA. Pastor Dan Reed and the folks there were very gracious hosts as they showed their love for the Lord in how they cared for each missionary family.
I was asked to preach the opening Chapel Service for their school, Harvest Baptist School, on Wednesday and was encouraged by the heart response of the students to the Word of God. The altar was full of young people and staff asking God to use them for His glory. Bro. Smithey and the faculty have done a great work with the boys and girls God has given them to mold.
Each night God used the preaching of Bro. Dean McNeese to encourage Christians in their service for the Lord. On Thursday night I was allowed to present the burden of our heart to get the Word of God translated and printed for “unreached people groups” who do not have the Bible in their mother tongue. We were able to show the FirstBible “Emergency” video to bring awareness of the urgency in which we must work to bring to completion the task given us by our Lord to “Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature”.
Esther 8:9 (KJV)
“Then were the king’s scribes called at that time in the third month, that is, the month Sivan, on the three and twentieth day thereof; and it was written according to all that Mordecai commanded unto the Jews, and to the lieutenants, and the deputies and rulers of the provinces which are from India unto Ethiopia, an hundred twenty and seven provinces, unto every province according to the writing thereof, and unto every people after their language, and to the Jews according to their writing, and according to their language.”
Matthew Henry writes concerning the great need of World Evangelism, “Shall all the subjects of an earthly prince have his decrees in languages they understand, and shall God’s oracles and laws be locked up from any of his servants in an unknown tongue?”
There is great joy today when a people group receives the Word of God in their mother tongue. Their voices are lifted up in praise to God, their faces flow with tears of delight and their hearts are humbled by the treasure they now possess in their hands. To see what I am trying to describe, please watch this video about the Kimyal People.
There are others just like the Kimyal People who are still waiting for the King’s Letter, the Bible, in their language
Will you help?
