The Greatest Issue of World Evangelism Today – Part Two
Another issue when it comes to world evangelism is our ability to participate. The question is how can we have a meaningful part in meeting the need while giving by faith. That meaningful part is the part in which we are engaged with purpose to influence or effect others . This is not done by chance happening.
How often do we get involved on a whim hoping that it will appease the heart desire that God has for each of us? Do we give financially in a frivolous way just to save face with others around who may be watching? Do we do what we do only as a token gesture of spirituality?
Is what we are doing good? Yes, but is it enough? I believe that each of us could be more involved in world evangelism but not just based upon a need or our ability to participate. It must be because of a yet greater issue. There must be an issue that has a greater motivation for our lives to be involved in world evangelism.
What do you believe is to be the greatest motivating factor in world evangelism? If it is not because:
1. There is a need
2. I have the means to participate
then what could it be?

The Greatest Issue of World Evangelism Today
As we think upon this thought of the greatest issue of world evangelism in our generation, we must first consider what some of the other issues are facing churches, christians, and Christianity as a whole. The responsibility of reaching the world with the gospel of Christ was given by Christ himself to the church. We all are well aware of what Christ said in Matthew 28:19, 20
“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
Then again in Mark 16:15 :
“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”
Christ set the standard high with His own life as our ultimate example. He left His home in heaven to come to where we are and sacrificed His life that we might go to where He is. The question then is why do we get involved with world evangelism?
One of the first issues that confronts us is that there is a need. I remember in college my missions professor made this statement and I have never forgotten it. He said, “The need does not constitute a call.” Many times we are moved by the slides, pictures, DVD presentations when we see the people as they are in not only their physical poverty but also in their spiritual poverty. If the need of people was the greatest issue, then the world is truly a needy place.
Are you involved only because there is a need of the people?
